Hey Mahi. Thanks for the great content. I’m starting to dive in and have plenty of time and capital but I have a question on where to start.

Do you suggest we all start with selling books to learn the intricacies of the FBA process? Because you state in this article that this isn’t how you started.

Also, reading the post about things we should buy to be a more efficient seller, you say we need Keeps & the Amazon seller account among other things. Should I wait to obtain product (whether books or some items I find on sale) before signing up for Amazon? What did you do?

Thanks for the content. Im looking to make an attempt at this business model soon and appreciate your Substack!

1. You definitely don't have to start with books if you have capital to play with. Books are a solid starting point because of the fact that you can buy them for relatively low cost, you don't have to pay for ungates, and you can learn without too much capital investment.

If you have a good amount of money to start (let's say $750+) you can drop $50-$100 on ungates right off the bat and start sourcing beauty, grocery, personal care, etc. It's just not what I recommend for everyone because some people want to prove the concept before they start investing heavily.

2. Register for your seller account right away and pay that $40. It will motivate you to make sure that money isn't wasted. You also won't be able to check if you have permission to sell certain items / brands if you don't have an account so you avoid buying something only to find out you can't sell it.

If you have a good amount of capital, I would add SellerAmp to your kit right off the bat - it's only ~$22/month and it saves you a lot of time + helps you make informed buying decisions.

Love the substance. Tons of great information here. Any plans on doing posts on how to get un-gated in certain categories?

I have a list of sites you can use to ungate major categories on my ungating post, I could release an updated version at some point but I don't have that much info because I was auto ungated in a lot of brands.

Thanks for your helpful reply Mahi. I see your point to start with books to test the concept and to learn the ropes cheaply. I’ll keep reading and debating how I’ll start.

Thanks for the tip for SellerAmp. I’ll take a look. Still working through your pinned thread which is packed with content.

Also looking forward to learning more about your premium membership which your limiting to a certain amount of people. I’m assuming I’ll get to that in your pinned thread but if not, where can I learn more about that?
